Base Details
This TH13 hybrid base is designed to protect trophies while also keeping valuable resources safely inside the layout. The Town Hall is centered and protected by Inferno Towers, a Tesla Farm, Heroes, and the Cake-A-Pult. Away from the core, the Eagle Artillery and another Cake-A-Pult occupy separate northern compartments, while the Clan Castle is positioned to the south. Resource storages are fully enclosed rather than left around the perimeter, making the base suitable for players who want defensive protection for both trophies and loot.
Why This Base Works
The base creates different defensive problems depending on the attack direction. From the south, an attacker can remove the Clan Castle early, but the Eagle Artillery remains for the later stages and the Cake-A-Pult becomes another threat once the army has been weakened. From the north, attacking the Eagle before it activates still leaves the first Cake-A-Pult in the way, with the Clan Castle troops arriving later. This creates delayed defensive pressure from either direction. The storages are also protected inside compartments and covered by major and splash defenses, while key defenses are spread out to reduce Giant Arrow and Fireball value.
Strengths
- Protected loot storage: Resource storages are kept inside compartments and covered by defensive buildings rather than exposed around the edges.
- Punishing south entry: Removing the Clan Castle early does not remove the Eagle Artillery and later Cake-A-Pult threat.
- Punishing north entry: Going after the Eagle first still requires dealing with the Cake-A-Pult, followed by the delayed Clan Castle troops.
- Reduced Giant Arrow and Fireball value: Key defenses are spread throughout the layout rather than lined up for easy multi-target equipment value.
- Balanced pathing against ground and air: The transcript describes no side where either troop type receives a completely comfortable entry, while Seeking Air Mines protect approaches to critical defenses.
Weaknesses
- Clan Castle can be removed early from the south: The video explicitly acknowledges that a southern attack can take out the Clan Castle early. The remaining defenses are intended to compensate, but this removes one layer of the defensive sequence sooner.
- Compartment access remains the key test: a strong attacker that establishes a clean funnel into one northern compartment can focus on that section first, although the split defenses are intended to make the following stages progressively more expensive.
Recommended Defending CC Troops
- Option 1: 2 Super Minions + 3 Headhunters + Archer: Adds strong hero pressure when the attacking army reaches the protected central and storage compartments.
- Option 2: Ice Golem + Valkyries + Super Minion: Works as a disruption-focused combination for ground troops moving into the major defensive areas and buying additional time for splash defenses.
- Option 3: Lava Hound + Headhunter + Archers: A delayed-pressure option that fits the base’s theme of making the attacker deal with another defensive layer after committing to the first compartment.
Summary
This hybrid layout fits TH13 players who want their base to defend both trophies and stored resources without exposing the loot around the perimeter. Its main defensive idea is directional punishment: whichever side the attacker chooses, another separated defensive compartment remains to be dealt with later.
